Little People Big World: Amy Roloff Struggled With Body Image
Little People Big World celeb Amy Roloff admits she’s always been insecure with her body. It didn’t help as a child being the target of bullies. However, as an adult, she found her path as a wife, mother, and businesswoman. Still, the pressures of being in the public eye from appearing on a hit reality show raised those insecurities once again.
Little People Big World’s Amy Roloff came clean on her mounting insecurities in her memoir A Little Me. Amy candidly admits the insecurities never fully went away and intensified as she grew older. After all her body carried and birthed four children. So when her body showed signs of aging the LPBW star seriously gave thought to go under the knife for a little nip and tuck. Let’s not forget at this same time Amy was going through a divorce from her then-husband Matt Roloff. With an uncertain future and a career that focused on her appearance on camera, like many reality stars, Amy gave plastic surgery serious consideration.
LPBW: What Stopped Amy Roloff From Getting Plastic Surgery?
It is no surprise that thoughts of plastic surgery popped into Little People Big World personality Amy Roloff’s mind. However, Amy realized that getting plastic surgery wasn’t for her. Amy shares that it becomes a slippery slope and she’s afraid one procedure will lead to more. After all, once you change one thing then other things seem like they need a change. Amy was smart enough to realize it wasn’t a ride she wanted to go on.
Amy Roloff sums up her decision perfectly with this excerpt from her book, “We are inundated with countless images suggesting that we need to change this or that to look better, more beautiful, and to get more out of life,” she writes. “I’m defying those odds because I believe I already have all that without changing my body.”
Now a few years later, the Little People Big World star certainly does have a great life. She recently wed her fiance Chris Marek. The two are enjoying their first year as newlyweds. Plus this past year Amy welcomed three grandchildren as all of her sons expanded their families within months of each other. No doubt Amy Roloff is enjoying her second chapter to her fullest.
